The bite of poisonous spiders can cause redness on the bite, swelling, itching and pain. In severe conditions, harmful insect bites can cause allergic symptoms that are quite fatal such as swelling in the throat and face, difficulty breathing and even loss of consciousness. So, what should you do if you are bitten by a spider?

Do this if you are bitten by a spider

Tnot all poisonous spiders. Most common spider species in Indonesia are not deadly. It may also be difficult for you to be able to tell which spiders are poisonous and which are not. Therefore, regardless of the form and type of the profits, following first aid if you or your friend is bitten by a spider.

Catch spiders. If possible, catch the spider that bites you and place the spider in a closed container so that it doesn't run away. The goal is that you or medical personnel can recognize the type of spider, is it dangerous or not.
Clean the wound. If you can't catch it, immediately wipe your wound with running water and soap to prevent infection. After that, dry it with a soft towel or tissue slowly and do not rub it. Then observe also the appearance of the spider's bite wound. This information can be useful for medical personnel later.
Kcold compress. If your spider bite hurts, try compressing it with cold water for 10 minutes. This will relieve pain from bites and treat swelling of the scars.
Use calamine ointment. Itchy ointment containing calamine is usually sold in lotion dosage forms. Apply this itchy ointment every six or eight hours as needed and use instructions on the packaging.
Taking medication. If cold compresses and calamine ointment cannot reduce your pain due to being bitten by a spider. You can take painkillers such as ibuprofen, anthistamine, or paracetamol.
Increase body parts. If your foot or hand has a spider bite, lift the part higher than the position of the heart to reduce swelling.
Immediately go to the doctor. If a scar with a spider digit doesn't heal and allergy symptoms appear, immediately contact a doctor.
