Medication for pelvic pain given by doctors varies for each patient. This depends on the cause, how great the pain is, and how often the pain appears. Generally, treatment does not completely cure pelvic pain, but this can help control pain and keep it from getting worse and chronic.
Overview of pelvic pain
Pelvic pain is an internal disease in the lower abdomen, an area under the navel (umbilicus) and pelvis. Pelvic pain often refers to pain in the area of a woman's internal reproductive organs, but pelvic pain can also appear in men.
In men, this pain is usually caused by inflammation of the bladder, prostate problems, drug abuse, and damage to the nerves in the pelvic area.

- Antidepressants. Some types of antidepressants can help to reduce chronic pain in other areas of the body. Antidepressants tricyclics, such as amitriptyline (Elavil), nortriptyline (Pamelor) and others, have the effect of relieving pain and acting as a medication for depression. This drug can also help improve chronic pelvic pain, even in women who are not depressed.

- Serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs) such as duloxetine, venlafaxine and desvenlafaxine
- Antibiotics. If your pain is caused by an infection, the doctor will prescribe antibiotics to relieve it.
