Osteoporosis, or often also called bone loss, is thinning and loss of bone mass density, which makes the bones become more porous, brittle, and easily broken. Osteoporosis is also often accompanied by a decrease in height, and back pain. Women are more at risk of osteoporosis after their menstrual period ends, especially Asian women. Fractures due to osteoporosis are more common in the pelvis, wrist or spine, but all bones can be affected. If this bone is damaged, it cannot be cured, especially the pelvic bone.
