What should I do?

First aid in abrasions, including:

Clean the wound

Wash your hands first. Then, rinse the wound with warm water and soap. The wound area may need to be rubbed several times with moist cotton to remove any remaining dust and dirt. You may be required to remove foreign particles (for example: asphalt granules) using tongs. If there is asphalt stain on the wound, you can wipe it clean using petroleum jelly, which is then rinsed using soapy water until it is clean. Lift the peeled skin tissue using sterile scissors. Rinse the wound area thoroughly.

Antibiotic ointment and wound dressing

Apply an antibiotic ointment to the wound area and cover the area with a bandage or bandage covering the wound. This step is important, especially in wounds in the joints (elbows, knees, or wrists) that require stretching from time to time. Preventing abrasions from opening or cracking can be done by applying an antibiotic (without prescription) ointment that will keep the scar tissue soft.
