In a study conducted in 2005, experts performed vaginal measurements in around 50 women. Then, is the size of the vagina of all women the same?
The size of a woman's vagina is based on research
The British Journal of Obstectrics and Gynecology conducted a study of 50 women, this study was published in the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology. Below, you can see the results of measurements made by these experts.
1. Labia minora
Labia minora is a smaller inner lip that surrounds a woman's vaginal opening. Labia minora is divided into left and right. The average width of the left labia minora is around 2.1 cm with variations between 0.4-6.4 cm. The average width of the right labia minora is around 1.9 cm, with variations between 0.3-7 cm.
The average length of the left labia minora is around 4 cm (almost the same as the length of a small carrot, with variations between 1.2-7.5 cm. The average length of the right labia minora is around 3.8 cm, with variations between 0.8-8 cm.
This shows that the size and width of the labia minora each woman can vary. In addition, the size between the right and left labia minora is different.
2. Labia majora
Labia majora is the outer lip that surrounds your labia minora. The average length of the labia majora is around 8.1 cm, with variations between 4-11.5 cm.
Please note that as you get older, the size of your labia minora and majora will also shrink.
3. Clitoris
Like the size of the labia minora and the labia majora are different in each woman, so is the clitoris. According to the study, the average width of the participants' clitoris is around 0.8 cm, with variations between 0.2-2.5 cm.
Meanwhile, the average length of the participants' clitoris is around 1.6 cm (slightly smaller than the buttons of your pants), with variations between 0.4-4 cm.
One interesting thing found by experts is that the size of the clitoris is related to how often a woman reaches orgasm during intercourse.
If you can reach orgasm every time you have sex with your partner, then you may have a larger clitoris than women who can only reach orgasm in other ways.
4. Vaginal burrow
The experts found that the depth of a woman's vagina is around 9.6 cm, with variations between 6.5-12.5 cm.
Meanwhile, the width of a woman's vagina is around 2.1-3.5 cm. The width of the vaginal opening that is too small (2.1 cm) can make a woman feel pain every time she has sex.
Keep in mind that the size of the depth and width of the vagina can change when a woman has sex and gives birth.
The point is that if you do not experience complaints or pain during intercourse, chances are that you have a normal vaginal shape and size.
