A 2013 study conducted at Harvard, found that exercise prevents premature aging and effectively prevents common conditions such as heart disease, stroke and diabetes.

It has long been known that exercise prevents aging and can ward off aging-related disease. But a study shows that routine physical activity has anti-aging effects on cells in the body.

How can exercise prevent premature aging?

A group of researchers from McMaster University Canada examined mice tested to exercise to inhibit the aging process. Previously, mice had been engineered to get old faster. After several months of training treadmill routinely, these mice turned out to be as young as normal and non-engineered mice.

In addition to that, the researchers also found that exercise prevents premature aging in almost all organs of the mice tested. In some cases, the body's organs even get better by exercising. Overall, the study notes that regular exercise and exercise can provide excellent protection against all muscles and brain shrinkage, and even prevent hair swelling.

Then, another researcher from Saarland University in Germany, also suggested that regular exercise can prevent shortening of telomeres. Telomere shortening itself lasts as long as human life and is associated with premature aging. This is because the shorter the telomeres, the shorter the DNA and this can disrupt the body's metabolism, causing damage.

Several types of exercises and sports to prevent aging

1. Yoga

Yoga is one sport that can be tried to keep you young. Maybe you would assume that the benefits of yoga for preventing aging and for health are not too big, because yoga does not do movements that sweat. But the assumption is wrong.

The movements contained in yoga according to Dr. Jeanette Graf, M.D., is useful for promoting blood circulation. The flow of nutrients and oxygen from all of the body's intended skin also becomes smooth when you practice yoga movements. Not only that, by doing yoga you will also make you get your own peace of mind that will make you avoid excessive stress.

2. Jogging

Jogging can also keep you young while maintaining organ function. This is evidenced by Humboldt State University and the University of Colorado who have stated that seniors have maintained body functions just like a 20-30 year old because they are diligent in jogging.

The elderly who do not exercise, their body functions do not change and experience aging. Meanwhile, those who jog their bodily functions experience an increase and the same as those who are 20 years old. So, for those of you who want to stay young and function your body more awake, you should start jogging regularly which is scientifically more effective against aging.
