Medical Video: If You See This In a Public Bathroom, Call the Police Immediately!
If you imagine something dirty, maybe the first answer that comes to your mind is the toilet - especially the toilet seat. Toilets, especially public toilets, are known to be the dirtiest and dirtiest places. However, make no mistake. Things that you often hold and use can be a nest of bacteria that is more dirty than a public toilet, you know! In fact, a study revealed that the ATM machine was as dirty as a public toilet.
ATM machines can be a source of bacteria
The research was conducted by BioCote, a supplier of antimicrobial technology from the United States. Research shows that bacteria that reside on the surface of ATM machines are almost as many as those in the toilet.
The findings were concluded after taking samples from numeric key pads on ATM machines in a number of areas in the UK used by thousands of people. The research team also took samples from the toilet seat in the same way, to compare the two bacterial samples under a laboratory microscope.
Then the samples were left overnight. Both samples from ATMs and toilet stands show bacterial growthPseudomonasandBacilluswhich is known to cause disease and diarrhea.
BioCote's research did not mention the exact number of bacteria in ATM machines, but previous studies from the University of California have revealed that there are around 50 bacteria per 0.1 meter square of the surface area of the toilet seat. Can you imagine how many total? Hiiyy ...
Same with public toilets, many different people use ATM machines every day. Hands that are not necessarily clean or free of bacteria are used to squeeze the ATM machine button.
So, do not be surprised if the ATM machine becomes a source of bacteria which turns out to be quite a lot. The number button on the ATM machine is ranked 10th as a public facility that is a source of bacteria.
The source of bacteria is not only found in the toilet
Public toilets are considered to be the dirtiest places, but not only that. You can get a source of bacteria from other places that you might not have guessed at all.
Research on 3,000 adults also revealed that public telephones are considered the biggest health risk.
While public toilets are considered the dirtiest places, the number keys on ATM machines are only ranked tenth.
The fear of the spread of bacteria makes nearly a quarter of the people in this study label public phones as very dirty with more than one in ten wiping handsets and buttons down before using one of them.
Public toilets rank higher than public phones, with almost two-thirds of participants calling them very dirty or quite dirty. The third position in this research is the bus stop and the fourth place that is considered dirty is the bus terminal.
The seat on the bus occupies the fifth position, with one in ten people acknowledging that before sitting in the bus seat, they try to clean or cover it.
The train seat is in the sixth position as a source of bacteria in public places. While the money machine is in seventh place. More than 42 percent of study participants considered the money machine to be a dirty place and a source of bacteria.
Other places that are dirty are train stations which are in eighth place. Thirty-five percent of Britons are very worried about using public transportation so they try their best to avoid taking buses, trains or other public transportation.
