When a baby sleeps is the time you've been waiting for. Unfortunately, making a baby fall asleep is not as easy as you might think. Different hours of sleep with adults often make you confused to adjust their sleep time. So, when your baby succeeds in falling asleep, you try not to make small mistakes that can wake your baby from deep sleep.

Besides that, do you know if there are many things you need to pay attention to when your baby sleeps? Here are some things you can and don't do when your baby is sleeping.

What needs to be done when the baby sleeps

1. Pay attention to your baby's behavior

When the baby yawns, you will think if your baby wants to sleep. Yawning is indeed one sign of a sleepy baby, however, there are other signs that can be a sign that your baby wants to sleep (especially in newborns), which is rubbing eyes, crying, or fussing.

2. Immediately place your baby in his bed every time he is drowsy

When your baby shows signs of wanting to sleep (drowsiness), immediately put your baby in his bed. This will accustom the baby to falling asleep every time he is placed on his bed. By doing this, you also help your baby to think of the bed as a place to sleep.

3. Pay attention to the safety of your baby

If your baby sleeps on your bed, sofa or floor, immediately move your baby to his bed or a safer place. Try to lie on your baby's sleeping position to avoid Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

Move blankets, pillows, dolls and other soft items from the crib or baby basket. Do not unite your baby who is sleeping with pets, even dolls or pillows.

4. Breastfeeding before your baby sleeps

Research shows that babies who are breastfed are less likely to die of SIDS than babies who don't get breast milk.

Don't do these things when the baby sleeps

1. Wake the baby when moving it

Often, your baby will fall asleep in a place other than his bed, such as a car, swing, or other place. Let your little one finish his nap in the car seat, and make sure your baby is safe or not pinched. Sleeping for a while in that place is not a problem, provided you don't let your baby sleep all night at the place.

2. Familiarize your baby to sleep on the stroller

To make it easier for babies to sleep, maybe you will take your child around the house with an alias stroller stroller. This may be done occasionally. However, not too often because babies who are accustomed to being put to sleep with "movement", it will be more difficult to sleep in a place that is not moving like a crib or baby cot.

3. Carrying a baby who wakes up crying in the middle of sleep

Instinctively, of course you will carry your little one who suddenly cries while sleeping to determine whether your baby is hungry, thirsty, sick or otherwise. However, you need to let your baby cry for a few minutes to see if your baby will calm down again.

If your baby is still crying for a long time (more than five minutes), come back to him and make sure that your baby is fine; because actually, crying is part of how babies learn to calm themselves, and that doesn't mean you ignore it.

4. Using a pacifier

Continuous use of pacifiers will make it harder for your baby to sleep or fuss when not using the pacifier.
