Medical Video: Why Is There Homosexuality?
You must have heard the term LGBT either hear it directly or through media such as newspapers or television. Many controversial LGBT debates. Even LGBT is one issue that is considered sensitive in Indonesia. What is LGBT actually? What factors cause a person to become LGBT? We find out in this article.
What is LGBT?
LGBT stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender. The term was used in 1990 to replace the phrase gay community or community that has sex orientation towards same-sex men, especially men. The term LGBT already represents the groups mentioned above. LGBT has a symbol in the form of a rainbow colored flag.
If gay is a special name for men who have same-sex orientation, lesbian is a term for women who like same-sex. While bisexual is a term for people who can be attracted to men or women. Transgender itself is a term used for people who behave differently or do not suit their gender.
RI Health Minister Nila Djuwita F Moeloek once emphasized that lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender or ordinary behavior abbreviated as LGBT in terms of health is not justified and is not a mental disorder but a psychological problem.
According to experts, transgender is a problem of human reproductive organ deformities or doubts between female or male organs. But this is certainly over time which can be known which is more dominant and there should be a way out or can be overcome.
What causes someone to become LGBT?
There are still many Indonesian people who are still unfamiliar with the term LGBT. LGBT is considered a deviant sexual behavior. Many factors cause a person to become LGBT. The following are some of the factors that have caused LGBT.
1. Family factors
Education provided by parents to their children has an important role for children to be more likely to become an LGBT member than to live normally like everyone else. When a child gets rough treatment or other bad treatment, in the end that condition can cause children to be inclined to choose LGBT as a life choice.
When a girl gets abusive treatment or other acts of violence from another father or brother, then the result of the trauma may be that the girl may possess hatred towards all men.
2. Environmental and social factors
The environment and habits of a person in socializing are alleged to have been the most dominant factor in someone's decision to become part of the LGBT community. The entry of cultures originating from abroad is also considered to be the reason for someone to become part of the LGBT. This culture introduces them to LGBT.
3. Genetic factors
Some research results have shown that one of the factors driving the occurrence of homosexuals, lesbians, or other deviant sexual behavior can come from within the body of an LGBT person whose nature can be decreased from previous family members.
In the world of health, in general a normal male has an XY chromosome in his body, while a woman who is normal in her chromosome is XX. But in some cases it was found that a man could have an XXY chromosome type, this means that the man has an excess of one chromosome. As a result, the man can have behavior that is somewhat similar to women's behavior.
The presence of testosterone in the human body has a big contribution to LGBT behavior. Low levels of testosterone in the body can result in, among other things, changes in behavior, such as male behavior being similar to women's behavior.
