Instant noodles are one of the processed foods. Food that is processed is not only food that has been prepared and then heated again. Food that is processed is food that has been changed from its original form to a new form for reasons of health, pleasure, and certain other reasons. Processed foods are generally only made with the addition of salt, sugar, and fat to provide a more delicious taste, while at the same time preserving and can be stored for a longer time. Sometimes, adding some of these ingredients can also affect the appearance of processed foods, it can even increase people's desire to eat them.
But with the addition of sugar, of course the fat contained in the processed food is increasing, and the nutritional content in it is certainly not much. So, the danger of instant noodles on our bodies if eaten too often includes:
1. Metabolic syndrome
Research conducted by Hyun Shin revealed that women who consumed instant noodles twice or more a week were at higher risk of being exposed to the metabolic syndrome compared to those who did not eat instant noodles at all.
The study was conducted on 11,000 adults aged 19 to 64 years. Participants were asked to report what they ate, then the list of foods would be classified by the researchers. This metabolic syndrome occurs because of the high content of unhealthy sodium and saturated fats, which are found in instant noodles.
2. Diabetes
Instant noodles made from maida. Maida is processed flour which has undergone a process of grinding, refining and bleaching. According to doctor Simran Saini, a nutritionist at Fortis Hospital in New Delhi, maida contained in instant noodles is just an additional ingredient that does not contain any nutrients other than rich in flavor. So that maida consumption will only trigger obesity.
In addition, Maida also has a high sugar content so that consumption of Maida can increase your blood sugar. When consuming maida, the pancreas will release insulin immediately to digest it, which should take time. This condition can trigger swelling to potentially type 2 diabetes.
