ER and ED
Many people consider the emergency room (emergency unit) and emergency room (emergency department) to be the same two treatment facilities. Even though it's not like that. ICU
Intensive Care Unit aka ICU is a hospital treatment specifically for adult patients with life-threatening conditions. Most of the procedures carried out in the ICU treatment room are intended to save patients from permanent disabilities which are feared to affect how they carry out their daily activities. In fact, in many cases, the procedures carried out in the ICU are dedicated to saving patients from death. Therefore, patients who are experiencing critical or life-threatening conditions will usually be monitored intensively with special equipment by skilled and trained medical personnel.
There will be many possibilities that can occur in the ICU. Well, this is the reason why medical staff assigned to guard in the ICU are required to be able to take action in critical medical treatment with a high level of alertness. The medical staff who are assigned guard duty in the ICU must be prepared if at any time there are patients who need help.
TRIGGER
PICU stands for pediatric intensive care unit. Unlike the ICU, PICU is part of a hospital care facility that is specifically for children with an age range of 1 month to 18 years. In this treatment, children with severe or critical illness will receive intensive care and continuous monitoring from medical personnel.
Usually medical personnel will provide therapy which may not be available in the hospital treatment room in general. Some of these more intensive therapies include the installation of ventilators (breathing machines) in patients, as well as the administration of certain drugs which can only be given under strict medical supervision. In many cases, children who undergo major surgery will be treated at PICU for several days.
