You must be familiar with sharp prickly fruit that smells pungent. Yes, who else if not durian. It is said that the fruit has a nicknameking of fruits this can also be used as a low blood medicine. This assumption arises because the durian is predicted to increase blood pressure. Is that right?

Nutritional content in durian fruit

According to the results of a study in 2016 published by the International Journal of Food Properties, once you eat durian in even a large portion (250-500 g) causes an increase in heart rate in the first 30 minutes for up to 2 hours after eating. However, it does not produce a significant effect on increasing blood pressure for 24 hours.

The results of the study are different from the results of research by the same researchers in 2018 published in Malaysians Science. The study found that rats fed large portions of durian showed an increase in systolic and diastolic pressure within one hour after eating. Meanwhile, the portion of durian in moderate amounts does not really have an impact on rat blood pressure changes.

Instead, try other, safer ways

Need further research and depth to really ensure the efficacy of durian as a low blood drug. Because the two studies above are still limited to involving the subject of a small group of humans and lab rats.
