How to treat loose nails?
How you deal with loose nails depends on how many tears and nails are still attached. If all loose nails immediately seek the right medical care to help the nails grow back to normal.
If your fingers hurt, soak your fingers with cold water for 20 minutes. Or you can compress with ice wrapped in a clean towel for 20 minutes, every 3-6 hours as needed. This is done to reduce swelling.
Cut loose parts of your nails so that they don't rub against clothes, carpet, or any object around you. Use clean nail clippers and scissors along the fault line until the nails are flat.
Protect the part of the nail that is open or visible part of the meat for 7-10 days until the skin hardens and is not sensitive anymore.
Apply the area with an antibiotic ointment and cover with a non-sticky bandage. Change bandages every day and when wet. If when changing bandages, there is a part of the bandage that sticks to soak the finger in warm water until released.
If the injured nail is on the toe, use fitting sandals or closed shoes.
