Medical Video: Are you washing your hands long enough to kill germs?
Our hands are intermediaries for the spread of disease. That's why diligent hand washing is one of the most effective ways to avoid various infectious diseases, such as diarrhea and upper respiratory infections (ARI). But unfortunately, launching the 2014 UNICEF report, it was revealed that 75.5% of Indonesians did not wash their hands because they thought their hands were clean. Meanwhile, from 40% of people who wash their hands, only 10-15 percent wash their hands with soap.
However, washing hands with plain soap is not enough. A study from the American Society of Microbiology states that ordinary soap only makes the grip of bacteria relax on the surface of the skin of the hand, not really eliminating it. Conversely, washing your hands with antibacterial soap will kill the bacteria right away.
Now, when do we have to wash our hands with antibacterial soap?
