The name of the children, certainly a hobby of playing and running around to satisfy their curiosity. But parents certainly may not be completely out of hand in watching over their children. Just a little careless, children can get injured from falling or scratching sharp objects while playing. This is also often experienced by Alaia and Aluna, the sisters of the celebrity couple, Tyna Kanna Mirdad and Kenang Kanna Mirdad. Interestingly, Tyna Kanna Mirdad admitted that she was never too worried when caring for child injuries. What, anyway, the secret?
Tips for caring for the child's wounds in the style of the Tyna family Kanna Mirdad
When met by the Hello Sehat team in Kuningan, South Jakarta, Tyna Kanna Mirdad had shared her experiences about the care of her children's wounds so far.
1. Clean the wound first
When treating her baby's wounds, Tyna always starts by cleaning the area of the injured skin using running water. "Aluna always doesn't like it when I clean the wound because it feels sore. But though not heart, I always say (to Aluna -red) that there is a benefit if the wound is cleared, "said Tyna who is also an activebeauty and parenting influencer this.
This was agreed by Dr. Adisaputra Ramadhinara, the first and only wound care specialist in Indonesia who has received the CWSP (Certified Wound Specialist) certification from the American Board of Wound Management.
"Cleaning the wound is a very important stage before we continue treatment to the next stage," said Dr. Adi, as he is familiar. The reason is, the chance of bacterial contamination of wounds that are not cleaned is high enough to cause infection.
2. Rub the antiseptic liquid
Tynna has always used running water, rubbing alcohol, or red drugs containing iodine to treat Alaia and Aluna's wounds. But Dr. Adi does not actually recommend using alcohol when cleaning wounds. Although it is effective for killing germs, alcohol and iodine are also irritating to the skin. This is what causes a painful sensation that we have felt during cleaning wounds.
The more painful wounds when cleaned, does not mean it must be more effective to make it heal faster, said Dr. Adi. Applying rubbing alcohol will actually dry out healthy skin around the wound and further damage the skin tissue that has already been damaged. As a result, the skin renewal process will be hampered and the wound will heal longer.
"Dry skin also increases the risk of scarring," added Dr. Adi. In fact, the injured skin can only be said to recover optimally if the condition returns to its original state, without pockmark or sores.
Dr. Adi recommends cleaning wounds with antiseptic fluids that are safer and moisturizes the skin to heal quickly, such as polyhexanide antiseptic fluids (polyhexamethylene biguanide / PHMB).
This active ingredient works equally effectively to kill germs such as alcohol disinfectants and iodine antiseptics, but is safer for skin tissue that has already been damaged and does not inhibit wound healing. The antiseptic liquid PHMB also does not cause sore sores when applied to the wound.
3. Cover with tape
"After cleaning and polishing the antiseptic drugs, new oh yeah I wound it with tape, "Tyna said.
When treating wounds, Dr. Adi also emphasized the importance of immediately closing the wound using tape after cleaning to protect the sensitive skin from bacterial friction or contamination.
Covering the wound also helps keep the injured skin area moist. Ideally so that the wound heals quickly, the wound area must be kept moist. Not completely dry or very wet.
Don't forget to replace the plaster at least every other day. Each time you replace the tape, clean the wound first with an antiseptic liquid and leave it for a while until the condition is damp, not wet. Then cover again with a new, sterile plaster.
4. Always have plaster and medicine available anywhere
"I personally have never restricted Alaia and Aluna to experimenting and running. Falling and wounds, is a child's way of learning, "said Tyna," but we also never know when children can fall and get hurt. "
Therefore, the mother of two children always works around this by storing wound medication and plaster preparations in various places to make it easier to reach, such as in first aid kits at home and in the car. Tyna also slipped plaster and antiseptic drugs in her child's school bag, and carried the backup in a personal bag.
Moreover, we also cannot always find sources of clean water or directly buy wound medicine at the nearest store.
