When you are pregnant, you may feel that you lack control of the bladder, when you want to pee and when you don't want to. You sometimes wet your bed while laughing or coughing. No need to be embarrassed, this is very natural for pregnant women. Here are some easy tips to control your bladder.
Do Kegel exercises!
Kegel exercises are very important and you can do 30 Kegel exercises every day.
The purpose of Kegel exercises is to strengthen muscles around the vagina and to increase your ability to tighten and relax muscles. This will also prepare you during childbirth and postpartum recovery.
- To feel your muscles, try to hold and release urine when urinating in the bathroom. You can do this muscle tightening exercise while sitting, standing, walking, driving, and watching television.
- Try gradual exercise. Hold and release urine little by little at a time and repeat until the urine runs out
- Tightening exercises from front to back or rectum. Do this exercise in the morning, afternoon, and evening, or three times a day. Do it 5 times then add up to 20 and 30 times each time you practice
Control your weight
Keep your weight balanced, because excess weight can add to the burden on your bladder.
"Teach" your bladder
Get your bladder to urinate 30 minutes before you really feel like peeing. And try to increase the lag time every time you pee.
Avoid constipation
Avoid constipation when you are pregnant so that your large intestine does not suppress the bladder. The trick is to eat lots of fiber.
Drink lots of water
Drink approximately 8 glasses of water every day. If you reduce water consumption, you will become dehydrated and experience a urinary tract infection.
Avoid several types of drinks
Avoid drinks like coffee, tamarind drinks, tomatoes, soda, and alcohol that will hurt your bladder and make you easy to wet your bed.
Use sanitary napkins
Bandages can absorb if you wet your bed. But do not use tampons because tampons cannot absorb urine and are not recommended for pregnant women.
Cross your legs
As a last resort, cross your legs each time you feel you will sneeze or want to laugh, also if you are going to lift a rather heavy item.
