When do you and your partner usually have sex? Before sleeping? Well, it turns out that research published in Scientific Reports states that this turns out to be related to the culture of the people in each region and country. Based on data collected from around the world, researchers at Indiana University and the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciencia in Portugal found that the number of sex on holidays shows the highest peak compared to other times.

Said research about sex on holidays

The researchers state that sex during holidays is more pleasant and tends to be in demand. To investigate sex moods and interests, researchers looked at data from Google Trends, namely search engine searches on Google from 2004 to 2014 and Twitter data from 2010 to 2014 in nearly 130 countries.

From the results of the analysis, the online search for the highest sex word in a country with a majority of Christians is on Christmas holidays. As for the majority Muslim population, the search for sex at Google surged during the Eid holiday.

Luis Rocha, Ph.D., one of the study authors and lecturer at Indiana University, United States, confirmed that sexual attraction during cultural celebrations or religious holidays had indeed increased. Public interest in sex search on the internet does not mean just looking around for pornography. Rocha added that this search included knowledge of sex in general, including contraception and so on.

Correspondingly, various data collected related to the increase in births nine months later. This further reinforces the fact that sex during the holidays, especially long holidays when religious holidays become a favorite time for sex. Even in the United States alone, more babies born in September are compared to other months. This shows that 9 months before September, namely on Christmas and New Year, the interest of couples to have sex has indeed increased.

Why is holiday sex more fun and attractive?

Researchers cannot ascertain the exact cause, which is clear that holiday sex fills the brains of most people in the world. Analysis from Twitter's social media shows that interest in having sex on a holiday is related to an increase in sex or post related to feeling happy, safe, and calm.

That's why researchers think that sex on holidays is more desirable because that's when many people feel happy and tend not to be stressed.

Another theory states that holidays are a time when couples can spend time together. A holiday is a time when you are free from work and all office responsibilities that usually shackle your time and mind. Therefore, the mind tends to be more relaxed and more open to trying new things with a partner in bed.

Not only that, when your vacation is also not burdened by other activities. Then there is a lot of free time you can spend to improvemood You, so you end up having sex with your partner.

However, the facts show that other holidays such as Easter and other religious and cultural holidays do not affect the birth and sex search rates on the internet. This might be attributed to the condition of Christmas and Eid al-Fitr, which is very oriented towards family closeness. From there people ultimately have the urge to immediately have a baby. Whereas other religious or cultural holidays prioritize eating and having fun, not family gathering.
