Medical Video: 10 Bug Bites You Should Be Able to Identify

  1. Definition

What is a flea bite?

Lice are brown insects that attach to the skin and suck blood for 3 to 6 days. Bites usually don't feel pain and are not itchy. Therefore, you usually will not be aware of his presence. Wood lice (or dog lice) can reach V2 inches (about the size of watermelon seeds). The deer tick, which transmits Lyme disease, is about the size of a pinhead. After consuming blood, these two ticks become very large and easy to see.

What are the signs and symptoms?

Flea bites are usually harmless and may not cause symptoms.

However, if you are allergic to flea bites, you may experience pain or swelling where the bite, rash, burning sensation, abrasions, or even difficulty breathing.

Some lice carry diseases, which can be transmitted when they bite. Lice-related diseases can cause a variety of symptoms, and usually develop within the first few weeks after tick bites. Symptoms of potential diseases originating from lice include:

  • Red spots or rashes near the location of the bite
  • Stiff neck
  • Headache or nausea
  • Weakness
  • Muscle or joint pain or feeling of pain
  • Fever or cold
  • Swollen lymph nodes
  1. How to overcome

What should I do?

The easiest and fastest way to deal with woodbite bites is to pull them out. Use tweezers to lift the lice as close to the skin as possible (try to be able to clamp the head). Pull as much as possible until the lice release their grip. Do not rot the tick or jerk it suddenly because the maneuver can damage the head or mouth of the flea.

Do not press tweezers to destroy lice, because liquids from flea destruction may spread the disease. If you don't have tweezers, pull the fleas out using your fingers, or use a needle. Small deer ticks must be fixed with a sharp knife or the tip of a card.

If the body of the lice is removed, but the head is still left on the skin, it must be cleaned immediately. Use a sterile needle (such as making an incision). Then apply the antibiotic ointment to the bite area. Get rid of fleas by returning them to a natural environment or flushing in the toilet. You do not need to keep fleas to help identify the doctor; the doctor won't need it.

If you are not sure it is a dog louse or deer tick, measure the fleas but do not need to keep them. Do not destroy lice by hand, because this can increase your risk of getting the disease. Clean your wounds and hands with soap and water after removing lice.

A study by Dr.G.R. Needham points out that sticking fleas will not escape when smeared with jelly oil or petroleum jelly, nail polish, or alcohol used for rubbing. Maybe we have thought it can clog the flea breathing hole and can wash it. However, unfortunately, fleas only breathe several times per hour. Lice combustion with matches will not succeed in removing it from the skin, this will only increase the risk of substance infestation in the wound area.

When do I have to see a doctor?

Contact your doctor immediately if:

  • You cannot remove lice from the skin
  • Head lice are still attached
  • Fever or rash occurs 2 weeks after the bite
  • You feel you have some unusual symptoms after being bitten by fleas
  1. Prevention

Lice like to hide under and between bushes. They do not fall from trees; they jump up from the ground. Children and adults who are hiking in an area infested with fleas, you should wear long clothes and slip the ends of your pants into socks. Use flea killers on shoes and socks (use of permethrin products on clothing is more effective than DEET products for fighting lice).

While undergoing hiking, do a tick examination every 4 hours or eradicate fleas on clothing or skin. Immediately after undergoing hiking or mountain climbing, or at least once a day, do a naked skin check. Bathing quickly after climbing a mountain will also eliminate fleas that are not too firmly attached to the body. Because bites usually don't feel painful and itchy, children will not be aware of their presence. The most preferred place for lice to hide is hair, so carefully check the scalp, neck, armpits and groin.

Getting rid of lice immediately can prevent infection, because the spread of lyme disease takes at least 24 hours. In addition, fleas are easier to eradicate when they have not been firmly attached. To prevent the spread of lyme disease from your dog, bathe your dog with anti-soap during spring and summer. Perform a flea check if your dog goes up the mountain. Remove lice if found.
