Medical Video: C-section (Cesarean Delivery)
There are several factors that cause the delivery of caesarean section. Mothers who have had a Caesarean birth will usually tend to give birth to a second or third child by caesarean section again. This caesarean delivery process is not an option, but an emergency labor process that must be done so that the mother can deliver the baby safely. Then, why do mothers who give birth caesarean tend to have a caesarean delivery again?
What is a caesarean section?
Caesarean section is one way of delivery that uses a surgical method. This labor process must be carried out if the pregnant woman has a condition that does not allow for normal delivery.
When undergoing the process of childbirth, of course all things are not sure to go as expected. Various disorders can arise in line with the process. Sometimes these disorders make the mother unable to give birth normally.
The decision to deliver by a caesarean section, planned or not, must be taken with good reason. Unplanned surgery was decided shortly before the fetus was born.
What causes you to have a caesarean again when you give birth a second time?
Those of you who have had a cesarean birth in the previous labor process will have a greater risk of undergoing another caesarean delivery at a later birth. Why? This is the reason.
1. Mother's pelvis that is too small
If your pelvis is small, this will increase the risk of having a caesarean delivery for the first, second, or so pregnancies. The smallness of the pelvis is also compared to the size of the baby conceived, so indirectly the size of a large baby will also increase the risk of delivery through a caesarean section.
If a caesarean section is not performed, the mother who will give birth is very difficult to remove the baby. Even pushing will feel futile. This will make the mother tired quickly, causing a negative impact on the baby (the highest risk experienced by babies is the risk of death). So from that labor by caesarean section should be done.
2. Mothers suffer from certain diseases
Serious illness intended is a disease that does not allow for normal labor. One of them is diabetes. About 2% to 4% of women will experience this diabetes while undergoing pregnancy even though you have not had diabetes before. This is called gestational diabetes, and is caused by hormonal changes during pregnancy.
In addition, heart disease can also cause caesarean delivery because many obstetricians who are concerned about the process of straining can be dangerous for pregnant women who suffer from heart disease.
3. The presence of abnormalities in the cervix
Abnormalities in the cervix are in the form of not being able to open the cervix completely. This factor causes a higher risk of caesarean delivery. This is because the condition of the womb of the pregnant woman is completely unprofitable and does not allow for normal delivery.
The cause of abnormalities in the cervix is the lack of preparation of pregnant women when they are at the beginning of gestational age to the point of labor. This is what causes pregnant women to have a caesarean section for a second delivery or so on.
