Medical Video: EASY HOMEMADE PAINT/SAFE FOR BABIES AND TODDLERS/ EDIBLE PAINT/4 INGREDIENT HOMEMADE PAINT

Babies aged 6-18 months are happy to put a finger in the mouth. When we train our sense of touch (and art soul) by painting with fingers, parents sometimes worry that children will accidentally swallow dangerous paint.

Do not worry. This is usually treated with edible paint, and you can easily make it yourself with ingredients that you can find in supermarkets. It's not dangerous if your child eats it, but this paint tastes tasteless so your little one won't be interested in eating it on purpose. The texture is soft, smooth, and not sticky. Perfect for stimulating the sensor and sense of touch of the child.

This activity is very good for babies, toddlers, toddlers, and children of all ages because painting and expressing imagination are things that all children love to do. With this edible paint, you give your baby the opportunity to explore paint safely and freely.

Painting with edible paint can encourage children's learning and development, especially in terms of:

  • Creativity and expression
  • Good motor skills
  • Hand and eye coordination and control
  • Cause and effect
  • Concentration
  • Language development
  • Explore the senses and find new textures

What you need:

  • 4 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • Cold water
  • 1 cup of boiling water
  • Liquid food coloring

Instructions:

  1. Mix the cornstarch with cold water in a medium sized pan. Stir until the texture resembles toothpaste.
  2. Add one cup of boiling water and stir until there are no lumps.
  3. Turn on the stove with medium heat, and stir. The dough will change and you will see a clear layer forming in the mixture. When you see this, turn off the stove but continue stirring. The dough will thicken and have a texture custard.
  4. Take it with a spoon and put it in a bottle, cup or empty container and add food coloring. Stir until it blends perfectly. Drop with food coloring according to the color you want. Mix various colors to create other colors, for example to make purple, use one drop of blue and two drops of red.
  5. Close tightly with cling wrap then store in the refrigerator if not used. Make sure you remove this mixture if it's been 2 weeks. This paint does not contain preservatives in it, so it is important for you to check whether the paint has not expired before you give it to the baby.

Suggestion: If the mixture hardens after being put into the refrigerator, add boiling water or leave it for several hours to return to the previous thickness.
