After your baby is born and the doctor ensures that he breathes with the semustia, your baby will be placed on your chest to form a bond between mother and child. You will be amazed at your baby that you have been waiting for for 9 months. The big change that happens is your baby's first breath.

Caring for an unhealthy baby
In rare conditions, something can happen to growth during pregnancy. Babies may be born with growth problems in one or several organ systems. This is called congenital abnormalities, or birth defects. Some babies have chromosomal abnormalities and some are born with genetic disorders such as cystic fibrosis, phenylketonuria, hypothyroidism, or sickle cell anemia.
Congenital disorders and genetic disorders can challenge you and your child as they grow older, especially if this condition is not addressed. As a parent, you might have craved a "perfect" baby. You may feel disappointed when you realize your baby has a birth defect or a genetic disorder. You may feel emotional, shock, rejection, sadness, and anger, before you finally accept the situation that happened. Surgery and other forms of medical therapy can be useful in handling the condition.
